How to stay organized for fall semester

organized, planner, college, school, organization, planner tips, college organization,
Hey y'all! My name is Sophia  and I am a senior at the University of North Texas and am new to Dallas. I am a public relations gal and am obsessed with my dog, cooking, and entertaining. I am always on the lookout for new creative outlets and enjoy doing calligraphy in my spare time! Thanks for joining me today!

With the new semester quickly approaching, I can't help but feel a little bit overwhelmed. Where did the summer go?! I have been dreading getting back into the routine of going to class every day, taking exams back to back, and working on homework all night. However, it makes a huge difference for me when I am organized because it allows me to get back into the school life with full force. Check out my top 3 tips below to stay organized for fall semester:

Use your planner

Although it took me awhile to truly appreciate my planners, I use them for EVERYTHING now. I would be completely lost without my planner and even have an app on my phone for when I'm on the go! A planner is crucial for staying organized, especially at the beginning of a new semester which is always overwhelming. I like to use a different colored pen for each class so that I can easily identify what assignments or exams I have coming up without getting courses confused or missing deadlines.

Eat healthy and stay hydrated

This will make a much bigger impact than you realize. I notice a huge difference when I don’t eat healthy and being dehydrated will not only make you feel miserable, but it will keep you from getting your work done. Avoid this hassle by eating healthy and drinking plenty of water. If you are going to be out for most of the day or night, pack some healthy snacks to take with you. String cheese, almonds mixed with dried peaches, and multigrain bread with peanut butter are all great snacks that are easy to stick in your bag.

Try to avoid social media

I know this is easier said than done, but I have caught myself wasting more time than I realized while scrolling through Facebook or Pinterest. This will make a big difference when you are getting back into the routine of school, especially with your first round of tests. Download the Self-Control app, which will block you from using whichever social media platform you have selected for your set amount of time. If this seems like a little much for you, try to plan small breaks throughout the day. Fifteen minute breaks can help when you can’t concentrate and need a little break from your work!
I hope everyone has had a great summer and has a great fall semester up ahead! How do you stay organized for a new semester?
